I saw a workshop given by Steven Hill of Kansas City, here in Walnut
Creek, Ca. several months ago and he utilized the use of clay slip on
his pots.He threw with Laguna B-Mix and used a slip form of the same
clay. It was the consistency of a thick milk shake and he applied it
with his hands on fresh thrown clay. He also used a heat source to help
dry it slightly. A nice approach you can see some of his work at,

porcelain. You are probably thinking of a heavier application, more 3
D, but I thought I'd throw this out there. Keep us up to date, please.
