Brian
First off a very fine gesture on your part. I live in Lacombe,La. five miles west of Slidell. Parts of Slidell look like a war zone. Off hand I can't think of a potter in Slidell, but I do know of a studio that might. It is Stone and Paper Studio, that teaches pottery in Mandeville,La. also west of Slidell. The phone number there is 1-985-674-9232. The owner is Mary-Elaine Bernard. I passed there last week and no one was there which isn't unusual considering that Mary-Elaine is probably dealing with the results of the hurricane like the rest of us. At this point in time the telephone service is limited to local calls only, which is the reason that I can't phone this to you. But long distance calls can be made in, personally I don't get it, but then again what do I know about phones. Hope this helps but people are still very scattered and difficult to locate right now. If this doesn't work, try to contact me via clayart, if you can while you are in Slidell, and I'm in the phone
book. I can meet you anywhere and see that you gift makes it's way to those in need.

>Hi everyone

Just wanted to ask if there were any potters in the close vicinity of
Slidell, La. I will be going down on monday from Indiana with a group of 30
or so people to do tree work and to do some rebuilding and re-wiring on
some houses that are being saved from the bulldozer. I am clearing and
doing some stream-lining on my studio and will be taking tools and books
and other things that i really don't use that much( you know the things you
buy on impulse and then never use again after the first time) and deliver
them to someone who really needs them. I hope that there is someone that
can use this stuff down there. I am not to sure of how far we will travel
in this area and will know more by Thursday morning. So please let me know
and if not... I have some stuff for clay it forward !!!!!! Hi Joyce..That
is if that still exists..
