Mother Earth Clay Art Center, Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild (OVCAG)
and Clay Planet have joined forces in a fundraiser for CERF (Craft
Emergency Relief Fund). Proceeds will go to Hurricane Katrina victims,
specifically craft artists, who need assistance getting back on their
feet. OVCAG kicked off the fundraiser by donating $1,500 of direct
funds plus an additional $1,000 of matching funds. Both Mother Earth and
Clay Planet have provided $1,000 each of matching funds for this worthy
cause. This makes a total of $3,000 in the matching fund pool. For
every dollar donated by the community, a dollar from the matching fund
pool is put into the pot. In addition, local ceramic artists (South San
Francisco Bay Area) have donated artwork which is now on sale at Mother
Earth. So far, these combined efforts have resulted in $5,052 raised!
Of the $3,000 in matching funds, only $1,806 has been used, leaving an
additional $1,194 left in the pool. These funds will NOT be used unless
someone else contributes (either directly or by purchasing donated
artwork). Don't let these unmatched funds go to waste! Mail your
checks (made out to CERF) to Mother Earth or call us and we can take
your credit card information over the phone. Together we have an
opportunity to make a REAL difference in the lives of craft artists
devastated by this hurricane.
