Tony...

wtg.. its nice to hear you try to get your students to look at the larger
picture, not just the nuts and bolts or technique. I was at a Val Cushing
presentation a few yrs back and his presentation was so refreshing. It did
include info on technique and construction, but he shared a lot about his
philosophy and himself as well.

I never thought art school or university arts programs should be the same as
ones at a technical college (its not like learning computers afterall), but
its rather a place for a student to learn to think, experiment, grow, and
hopefully leave enriched and thinking as an individual. Sometimes it just
takes one teacher to make a difference.

So do you find this experience at Sheridan has been mutually beneficial
..re your own work? helped you grow as well?

and Re Edward Bastarache's "Country of Choice" post to the group...
I would be curious to hear if you even know what "Toronto newspaper" this
came from, Edward. I see it was just an email that was sent on to you that
you forwarded on.
Your "article" is not representative of the majority of Canadians, whether
they be Torontonians, or westerners. Thankfully laws, immigration policies,
and the like are decided by the majority, not just individuals or small
political factions.
....in ANY case, and more importantly, what does your post have to do with
pottery?!
