moose creek feldspar update

Craig,
Roger Kaufman of I-Minerals is having a 40 lb sample of the 325 mesh grind
prepped even as we speak. If you have a batch recipe that uses some amount
that will allow you to do several pieces, let me know how much you need and
I will get it to you as soon as it arrives. We need a few other testers who
will share their comments with local suppliers who might want to carry the
spar. Since it will be made in the west, it will be cheapest west of the
Mississippi but Roger has been lining up backhaul contracts to move it east.
Of equal importance:
Once the plant is on line, it will produce ultra high purity silica, the
Moose Creek Potash Feldspar ( it actually is on Moose Creek near Bovill,
Idaho just north of Lewiston), AND some residual Kaolin washed out during
processing. I have seen the chemistry on this and it is low iron and low
titanium so it should be a great kaolin for you porcelain lovers.
Exciting times for clay addicts around here!
