Greetings to all those who have given me advice and
suggestions regarding my new gas kiln, hood, pipes
SAFETY and more.
With clay on my feet I just came in as the last ditch
was closed, the gas system approved and the fire
safety approved, all in one organized morning!
We lit the pilot and sent the kiln roaring (" "),
warming up my little half-outdoor studio-shed. One
could see my smile for miles!
I think we did it well and I thank you all for
patience and advice so needed to a novice.
Ah:another question:
We named our drive (911 request) revelstone drive,
which has to do with multitude as well as many friends
etc.
I want to call my little stomething or other clay
place "revelstone whatever".
At first I thought of revelstone ceramics, then
revelstone pottery, but the problem is that I do some
of both: I handbuild prob. 60-70%, the rest wheel
work.
Does anyone have a suggestion? "ceramics" has a really
different connotation in our touristy area. Thanks!
Marianne

We're calling our little studio the clayhouse. Maybe Revelstone Clayhouse
would work.
It seems a little cheesy at first, but it grew on me. That and my wife and
daughter's determination kind of made the name stick.

Just as long as people don't expect to see a house made of clay.
You might want to rethink using "Clayhouse" and use "Studio".
A studio implies an artistic endeavor...... I'm not sure how
"Clayhouse" might be interpreted.
I recall a friend using Crockery on her sign and she found people didn't
know what it meant.
So my best advice is to KISS and don't assume
someone looking at your sign or business card is going to "get it".
You could still use Clayhouse in your promo.... like
"Visit our Clayhouse"
Feel free to ignore my suggestion.....
