manganese clay damage to kiln

Edouard, Vince, Ron, John et al,
Yes, I have read all the archives on a using a manganese clay body,
it's bloating problems, and the health risks.
And, I've decided not to use it as I had planned, despite the order I have
received for 500 matte black tiles before Thanksgiving.
Now after testing it for four firings (^4 electric) that haven't been
successful
(unbelieveable bloating!) I have another concern. Have the kiln bricks
absorbed enough of the fumes from those test firings to ^4
that I need to worry about manganese fumes for the subsequent firings
I do in that kiln?
The kiln is not vented but it is outside in a screened carport.
TIA,
Nan

Hi Nan,

I don't think you have to worry if the kiln is outside - I would still
avoid breathing the fumes however.
