Here are the details of what may be the shortest art show in history.
On November 12 and 13, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, there will be
a two day symposium called Sangama 2005 with about 400 people from around
the world attending. It is sponsored by Kannada Vrinda of Houston and will
focus on the past and present art and architecture of India. I'm lucky
enough to be among the six artists who will have work on exhibit at that
time. However, the artists also wanted to have friends, family and fellow
artists able to view the work without attending the symposium.

So, from 11 am until noon on Nov. 12, the MFAH is graciously opening their
doors an hour earlier than usual so that the public (with no admission
charge)can come in and view our art exhibit, which is entitled
Hindu/Houston. The art all relates to the fusion of the Hindu community in
the Houston area and was created for this specific event.

It's amazing, but when I first started planning my two ceramic and mixed
media pieces, they were going to be rather small. But, as time has
progressed (a couple of months)they have gotten bigger and bigger. I think
tht must happen when I'm not in the studio. However now, everything has
survived the kilns and I'm busy assembling it. Every body part is now sore
(since I'm an old broad who has no business doing stuff this size), I am
dreaming about possible disasters on a contuing basis, and still feel very
excited to be doing this. If it all works out, I will be delighted. If it
doesn't, I plan to blame it on senility and limp.

So, if you are in or around the Houston area for that "special hour" on
Nov.12 (Saturday), please stop by the MFAH and let's visit. I'll be the
one with the glazed look on my face. Hope to see you.
