If anyone is taking 35mm slides for jurying into shows, they might have
a look at Vince's excellent post from late November 2003 concerning
lighting. Eliminating all shadows from a work is not necessarily
desirable. Some shadows will show dimension and show that the piece is
sitting on a surface. Avoid making shadows climb the curve of the
backdrop though. Larger backdrops make this easier. Symmetrical side
lighting eliminates shadows and make the piece appear flat.
