Ron Meyers has been working in clay for over 30 years. He is an =
internationally known artist whose work is collected in the US and =
abroad. Meyers, who recently retired from teaching ceramics at the =
University of Georgia describes his pottery as utilitarian. Meyer's =
draws on pots using a variety of colored slips. His work uses images =
with wildly rendered and often humorous figures of both humans and =
animals. Ron's work has been featured on the March/April 2005 cover of =
Clay Times.

On Saturday Ron will show various throwing and altering techniques in =
making functional shapes using a red earthenware clay.

Sunday will be a continuation of throwing pots plus Ron will demonstrate =
finishing and decorating the pieces using colored slips and stains. Ron =
plans to show slides of historical influences and his own work each day. =

Education: Master's Degree in Art Education, Rochester Institute of =
