Can I directly substitute opax, zircopax or 1/2 the amount of tin for
ultrox in a recipe?
Thanks,

Hi Eric,
In a word - yes - but - much depends on the mesh size of the material. I
can't remember if it is finer or bigger mesh size that aids opacity - I
seem to remember that finer mesh size gives better opacity but I'm not
sure.
If you check the analysis of all this zirconium silicates you will find
them quite similar.

Parmalee says finer mesh aids opacity. See Chapter 1.
