What are different Thicknesses available in DECAL papers? Does it make any
difference in quality of end product?

Also, does anyone know who are the manufacturers of DECAL papers? I want to
buy some in bulk.

Waterslide decal paper is one kind , there is a heat release decal paper also.

There are several sources in USA and others in Europe and Asia. A
Google for waterslide decal paper will bring up over 75,000 them. Bel
Decal in Florida ( http://www.beldecal.com/ )makes it and has a
website. Micromark, ( http://www.micromark.com/ )a tool company
sells it but gets it here and there as they don't make it. It is
different from Bel's paper.
There are several kinds on the market plain commercial paper just has
gum on a medium weight paper about 28 pound weight I would guess,
Laser decal paper has a thin plastic film on top of the gum and is
probably treated somehow so laser images will stick to it and go
through the fuser of the printer. Ink jet paper is similar with the
additional top coat of the ink receptive coating.
It depends what you are trying to do with it as to what kind to get. TEST.

Hi Shailesh,
I use decal paper from Bel Inc in Miami. They sell in reams of 250 sheets, and their address is www.beldecal.com 305-593-0911
The quality of the decal depends on the application of the acrylic sealer spray which is applied on in light coats after the image is printed onto the paper (print shiny side up) If you have made more decals than you can use in one go, they can become brittle in storage, and break apart in the water. I have found you can just give them another fresh spray of acrylic, let it dry well, and you are good to go.

Good luck, Mary K
