You could try Oxi Clean. I don't know if it would hurt it, but I've
heard people swear by it. Good luck.

Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure, but the huge black stain on my new sofa I think are coming
from the black substance in our sandy soil or some other dirt I picked up on my
arm while cleaning out and packing up the garage (we're moving Friday).
I've tried laundry soap, acetone, upholstery cleaner, none of which are
touching this, so I think it may be black iron oxide that's in the soil. I just
don't know for sure what it is. I was able to brush some of the top off, so I
know it's not ink or tar. AARGH!
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove whatever this is?
Thanks!
