Anyone know of a wheel that I can pick up by myself and take to demos? I
have no trouble with 50# boxes of clay or dog food...
Thanks,
Pottermim
If you aren't afraid of kicking and don't want to make HUGE stuff - try the
York Kick wheel. It is about 50 lbs and quite portable. I bought one two
years ago and have used it to do demos at school for the kids. I put it on
my trolley along with a bag of clay, tools, water bowl and stool. Perfect
for making mugs, small bowls. I've thrown as much as 5 lbs on it (very soft
clay mind you and slapped to centre).
One idea.......

Creative Industries make a portable pottery wheel that weighs 26 lbs. I
have it as a second wheel in my studio and use it to stand up and throw when
my back is bothering me. It is very well made.
