you might consider a visit to the Asian Art Museum, conveniently located near city hall.
In December there will be a display of rare Japanese scrolls and on the weekend of Dec 10-11, the Bonsai Society of San Francisco will be displaying and demonstrating bonsai (and bonsai pots - gotta put clay stuff in here somewhere!) in conjuction with the Asia Alive program.
