Lee,
John Gardener was a resident writer in carbondale when I was a grad =20
student. He wrote the eulogy for my Grad. mentor, Nick Vergette, when =20=

he died in 1973. I have read many of his books. The printmaking prof, =20=

herb Fink, illustrated one of the books. I saw the cover in a =20
bookstore and know it was Nick's old victorian house down the country =20=

road from where I lived. Gardener lived out there too. Beautiful =20
countryside.
