vulcan kiln blow-out

I just ran across your posting about your firing mishap. I had the exact
thing happen to me with an old school Vulcan. I don't know if you got the
lost coil situation under control, but did you check the wiring? The way
the wires feed into the kiln is split into two lines. One wire controls
three of the coils and the other wire controls the other two coils. In my
situation, the problem was taking place back at the electrical plug box.
Actually, my faulty installation job, was causing the surrounding plastic to
melt onto the wire. However, I did learn a lesson in how the kilns power
works. Good Luck.
