I am over a week behind with reading the
Independent, so sorry, not yet... Do not yet know
what has been brought to light!!

Did you catch the obituary of an elderly woman
the week before last, who ran a artist's supply
shop for many years (which she hated) and during
that time got close to Bernard Leach (amongst
others)? Died at something like 105 living near
another male muse on some far-flung Scottish
Island, but supported her final years by wrapping
up the odd Leach pot or two from her collection
and posting them to one of the big auction houses
whenever she was low on funds... NOW THAT is what
I consider exceptionally good use of Leachian
pots!!! Beats the official pension schemes.

Sincerely

Janet Kaiser --- only just hearing about how the
past year has been hard for potters throughout
the UK... Wonder if this is universal or just
here, where the economy is beginning to stagger?
