I am just finishing up my third cone 11 firing with these modified diesel
burners and made several major improvements just today while the kiln was
firing to make it even more reliable and simpler. I got the basic concept
from a small group of people who heat their houses with veg oil and then,
mostly through trial and error, came across the best way to apply the same
concept to a pair of kiln burners. There are also some pictures of the
system i use for collecting and filtering wvo, which is practially
automated. A lot of pages on the site are still under construction but i
just recently took a bunch of pics of the kiln and most of them are on the
site now. More technical info will be coming soon, specifically for any
potters with an interest.
With the kind of scavenging i do, i managed to pull the whole thing off for
somewhere in the range of $500 and i figure by the end of this holiday
season the amount i saved in propane will just about cover the investment
cost. Although i also had some of equipment i use for gathering and filter
wvo around since i run a van off it as well.
By the way if anyone in the Cincinnati area is interested i can tell you a
few places to get free wvo - at this point i have more sources than i can
keep up with and would like to pass on a few.

Dear Paul;
Congratulations on a well documented adaptation to fire with Waste

Great Work!
Cheers, Hank
