diana has done a wonderful research project
using cone six reduction. she has really done the work
and her `clay it forward` project is a delight.

i have been close to this project for four years as
she is going to include some of the more famous
cone 10 glazes later. like rhodes 32 etc.

i am totally convinced that the next great move
in clay is going to be cone 6 reduction.
it is just going to need work like diana has done
to convince the world that you cannot tell the difference
once the proper fluxing is done.

I would agree with you that there will prolly be a shift towards ^6r; gas
prices are just too high, but mel, who CARES if you can tell the difference?
(I"m assuming you mean, the difference between ^6R ware and ^10R ware). A
beautiful pot is a beautiful pot, and in terms of looks, temperature is
irrelevant. I did a bit of ^6R when I was in college just because I could
do. I had good results. Had a really nice copper red at ^6r. That recipe
is around here somewhere.....

Mel,

at La Boutique d'Argile in Quebec City in 1969
we fired C/7 redux for 1 year with excellent results.
