Thanks, man!
I really have struggled with this option for a while
now. I liked the old wire handles with wooden
pieces at the top, like a regular bucket handle.
I went with a ceramic tube glazed and then run through with
wire and it didn't look right.
then the raffia covered wire, but it was too skinny and
would not weave into anything pretty.
then tried the branch and twig style that is ubiquitous
now and it was a little too bushy for me.
then I talked to a basketweaver and asked her how they
made those really simple, straight forward basket handles
made to enhance the woven basket rather than the handle.
But I was really in a twist when something didn't go just
right in the weave and I wound up with at least thirty minutes
of time laying on the floor if I decided to cut it off and try again.
then I broke the delicate lug off of my favorite pit fire piece
by the tension being too great...
And then I saw your post. So I want to thank you for that.
Cause that really simple solution handle solves all the
problems listed above, allows room for all the twiggery you
have a penchant for, and comes off if you like to sterilize
the mint tea taste out of your favorite pot when you are
ready foe some mellow green brew but not ready for a new
pot.
I am a happy camper. It's a little thing that caused me
big headaches. Maybe I should name it "Motrin"!
I am glad to hear how well your sale went. I love to see
people who work hard succeed. You should get yourself
some new supplies to mix with your old and make a bunch
of low-anxiety handles when you get snowed in.
And I will get a special treat when I get to see my handle
on your pot, when inphysical reality, we have never met.
Here's one for the post office!
