A year ago, I bought a Bailey 24 inch twin roller slab maker. I absolutely
love it. The technique that makes it so, is using linoleum instead of canvas
to handle the clay. I cut 24 x24 and 24 x 36 sheets of flooring linoleum
and use two sheets to pass the clay through the rollers instead of the
canvas. You never touch the clay till you are working on the slab. No
stretching, no finger marks. Flip it, change direction of the roll etc. And
then I take the cut slab and put it in the form right on the lino, remove it
on the lino, and begin forming the piece with the lino for support. It also
makes great outlines for the shape you will need.
The Bailey is easy, reliable, the company is cooperative in helping solve
problems, even if it isn't their fault.

Thats my vote-and I'm sticking to it.
