Hello everyone,

I was grateful for all the suggestions and help I received. Always am!

It was the general consensus that it had to be the thermocoupler.
I don't know why I doubted that - who am I to know, just yet..but a gut thing.
Today i ran the kiln, empty, to see what would happen. Nothing happened-that is to say: everything went as it should.

So, in a way, I am happy that the problem seems to be regarding a kiln with its own mind............oh, MAN! I forgot to put a kilngod (or is it a kiln-devil?) on it.
That's it. The kiln-creature blew it. Out. Restricted its access to gas. Squeeezed the life out of it. Revenge.

THAT'LL LEARN ME!

OK. I will PUBLISH my next disasters. I still don't know how to glaze properly, i think..Sounds so easy. I think we need a book Real Pottery For Dummies.
Or a Klutz thing with a ball of clay.

Thank you all for your help, and I really mean that. It's good to know I have friends to whom I can complain endlessly. I know you, too, have a delete button!

Marianne
