The manager of the old Ramshead Pub has turned off the taps and is now
serving sodas. The house wine is Dr. Pepper. The name has been changed to
The Fallen Arches Family Restaurant and AA meetings are to be held there on
Wednesday nights.
Membership is limited.
The place has the smell of death about it from years of pepperonies, pickled
eggs and beer. I look around and see many of the potters must be elsewhere.
I'm going out to catch some fresh air and moosey down the street to a new
gallery opening. I heard some of Clayarts finest have left and are spending
their creative energy on their work. Their work will be showing there. We
will be able to see it and discuss it. There will be wine, beer and a
non-alcoholic punch available. Some are even having a smoke outside. I hear
laughter, cursing, philosophy. It sounds like a good place to go.
The dinnerware set from hell is firing as I type. Please let there be a God
and help me to deliver these 100 pieces.
Sheila is getting a Christmas present for Clayart ready. See ya in few days.
Cheers,
Tony

Dear Crom Agnon:

The sign above the exit reads, "Don't let the door hit you on your ass on
the way out," but that's bar decor for you, always to the point. Right,
there were a bunch of really hairy people in here just a moment ago. They
are congregating out back near the dumpsters, picking off ticks. That
didn't bother me so much as the sitting at the bar with all the nut
scratching; we serve pretzels here. As for the smell, can't complain if
all you ever order up is thin-crust pizza.

For those of you with a picture fettish, do your homework:

This is the new Google-powered mapping site of our very own clayart. It
does take some time to load, but member pictures are at the bottom of the
page. I have been very impressed with the depth and bredth of Clay Town's
potters. Some great heights for me to aspire.

Also a loader, but Hellen bates and Bill Amsterlaw continue to do a
fantastic job of keeping us plugged in. Thank you both of you.
Alphabetical listing of Clayarter websites. BTW, I am liking Bill's latest
bottles.

This was to be a place for those of us self-medicators to get feedback.
Oh well.

I can think of at least two other sites (one is SUCAWS) where Clayarters
have posted pictures of their work, but either I can't remember what the
address is or I can't get it to load. I first saw Aerni pots on SUCAWS,
and I am glad I did.

The rest of you need to chime in with Clayart related collections of
photographs.

And that's Dr Pepper.

Another is www.potteryforms.org

SUCAWS, sadly, is no more, if I remember right.

I can't believe I forgot this one:

This is our flickr site. I can't remember who set it up, but I think it is
our very own Lee Love. I have a flickr account so I know how to upload
pics. If anyone has questions on how to do it, email Lee or others you
know that have done uploads to flickr. It's quite easy. Post pics of work
or to illustrate a current discussion on clayart.

Woo hoo, ain't Dale Tex sexy in them jeans?

Taylor, I am still too sexy for my genes...... that's a sexy kiln too.

Man, that twas a flat belly long time ago. I loved that kiln. Built every
bit of it. Scavenged hard brick and materials far and wide. You had to make
it cool down. 2600 degree soft brick inside. Stacked the door. I got some
sexy Albany Slip and homemade wood ash glazes from that downdraft.
I moved to Texas and left the kiln there with the barn studio. The new
owners of the place were not potters. After a few years told a person on
ClayArt in Tennessee where to find the kiln. She went down the country
gravel roads and offered the new owners of the place some amount of money
for the kiln. They didn't know what it was. She dismantled it and hauled it
home and rebuilt it. What a deal.

Burnishing some pots for your upcoming pit firing in February.
