yellow earthenware

There's a shino recipe I found that I want to test that calls for 20%
yellow earthenware - does anyone know what could be used? I looked
through several books and found nothing that connected yellow
earthenware to a clay name. There's a fire clay that's sort of
yellow, but that's not earthenware. Or yellow ochre - although it's
described as a mineral? Any suggestions. The other two ingredients in
the glaze were Neph Sy (70%) and Titanium (10%).

Thanks

Just finished firing a load of dinnerware tonight, Sunday I unload
and load another dinnerware set, both shino, I really, really hope
they turn out, my fingernails need some time to grow back.

Hi Connie,
Only a guess here, but the earthenware clay I dug in Crete,Ilinios is a lovely yellow.

I don't know of any comercial mines, but it is three inches down everwhere in that area .

IF you would like to try some let me know. I brought back over 1000 lbs to play with a few years back.

Minimal experimentation so far shows nice terra cotta at ^04, brown blob at ^6.

Regards,
Jim
