Enc Brit. << Methane : A colourless, odourless gas that occurs =
abundantly in Nature as the chief constituent of Natural Gas, as a =
component of fire damp in coal mines and as a product of the anaerobic =
bacterial decomposition of vegetable matter under water (Hence the =
alternative name "Marsh Gas".......The "Activated Sludge" process of =
sewage disposal also produces a gas rich in methane>>=20
Not difficult to produce but presents hurdles in collection and =
distribution. Prevention of contamination by Air is essential. Getting =
it to a useful pressure so that you can feed it into your kiln may =
present some engineering problems. I am sure there is a wealth of =
information for people who wish to exploit this source of energy. As a =
conservationist I like to think of "Second use before disposal"
