Hi Ivy,
Could I guide you to a site that is full of opinions about kilns? Ok, hit
http://www.potters.org/categories.htm
Then find the section on Kilns and look down the list to Manufacturers - hit
that and spend more hours than you probably wanted to. there is also tons
of other info in the Potters.org site which is very useful.

Best regards,
Carol

I have and L&L and tho I've had my fair share of problems with it, the back
up tech support by L&L is superb.

Ivy,
I bought a 30 year old Cress a few years ago. It was in very good condition
and even came with the owner's manual. It was very well taken care of and in
need of only a few repairs. Cress was very helpful. I've been very pleased
with its performance. If you get the Cress and ever need any help, please
don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi all,
I am getting ready to buy my first kiln and would love to get the
opinion of some Clayarters. Do any of you have some experience with
Skutt and Cress? Which one you would recommend over the other? With my
low budget it looks like I have a choice of a used Cress Model B-27-E
or a Skutt KS -1018. Both seem to be in about the same condition,
about the same age, and both are manually operated with kiln sitters.
To me, the relative size and shape of each is equally appealing. So,
it's kind of a toss up. Any thoughts?
