I am looking for a commericial clay Cone 6. Use in electric or gas.
I have tried Standard 112 and it does not do well in gas reduction at least
for me. Fine in electric. Highwater's Desert Buff and Ellen do well for me
under six pounds and I like it fairly well, but seems to have some cracking
for me over that amount.

Like a tan or grey clay at Cone 6 that will dry well for either small or
large piece up to 10lbs.

Any suggestions

I used Standard's 153 while I was at university as it will fire between
cone6 and cone 10. The absorption at cone 6 was low enough for functional
ware. At home I fired in oxidation to cone 6 and at school it was reduction
to cone 10. I never had a problem with any of the firings. It was great as I
didn't have to be concerned about mixing up clays and firings. At cone 6 it
is a buff colour and at cone 10 it is grey.
