It's most frustrating hearing you American potters singing the praises of
Silicon Carbide kiln shelves ,and the like....any one know of a place in the
UK selling, or even making, lightweight kiln shelves? I've never seen them.
Cheers,
Ama, Totnes, Devon.

Ama - Here's a link to a discussion of kiln shelves with some mentions of
shelves from England: http://www.potters.org/subject04761.htm
Didn't read through the entire discussion, so don't know if the answer is
included.
I believe Geil kilns are importing (as mentioned on Clayart) silicon nitride
shelves from China. Perhaps a supplier in England might look into this.

Hi Ama,
If you only need a small number of kiln shelves a company specialising in
the craft and studio market is likely to be the best so try Potterycrafts
who are by far the biggest in the UK in that sector:
www.potterycrafts.co.uk or 01782 745000

Antony
