I am being a really good person here, against my principles.
A very nice person asked me to post the "other" Yeh recipes from CM 3/95 =
and so, while I told vnp that I do not like to do this, I will this =
time. My point is not that I mind copying recipes...but, as with =
RonJohn's book, if we all copy recipes from books in large number, then =
there is no incentive for people to buy the books.
In this case Ceramics Monthly IS available in libraries, and if it is =
not, then potters asking for it will make them subscribe. Also, =
libraries, unfortunately do NOT get all magazines on microfilm and do =
NOT necessarily keep back volumes....so it behooves us to encourage them =
to do so....
However. =20

Please note that both barium and lithium appear in these glazes. These =
are "old" recipes. Neither of those materials is recommended today. =
No claim or statement is made in the text about whether ANY of these =
glazes have been tested for food safety, or leaching.=20
And, I, who know nothing about reduction fire, was astonished to see =
zinc in some R glazes.
Mr Yeh writes that, invited by Harriet Brisson, he taught at Rhode =
Island College for a Summer, Invited by Harris Deller, taught at =
Southern Illinois University. Invited by Yih Wen Kuo at Northern =
Illinois University, and San Jose University's Art Foundation he taught =
or lectured there. (The text is not too explicit, I cannot figure out =
did Mr Yeh teach there or visit or what---but out there someplace there =
are lucky people who met this amazing glaze master....
And that is all.
