good hints, others may join in.
check your computer:
defrag
cleanup your disc
get rid of old internet files
get rid of cookies
go through your computer and
get rid of old files that bog things down.
save your favorite files and address book.
(it is not will your computer crash, it is `what day?`)
take off that kid game from `your` computer.
make sure you are not using styled text for clayart.
check your smoke detectors/ and get a c/o detector
for your basement or home.
check batteries in your flashlight.
make sure you have a good flashlight in your car.
make it a safe and wonderful new year.

Mel's list is fine, but I would add:
Open up your tower and clean everything inside (with the power plug=20
removed). You may find enough clay dust in there to make a small pot, not=
=20
to mention house dust and pet fur. All this could eventually cause your=20
computer to overheat and even catch fire.
