mug exchange for beginning/intermediate potters

updated mon 30 jan 06

Alisha Clarke on mon 9 jan 06

I thought I'd mention that we're having a mug exchange on the
potterybasics group. Some people (like myself) are not yet confident
enough in their work to participate in the ClayArt mug exchange.

In the PotteryBasics Yahoo group, which focuses on issues for
beginning or intermediate potters, we're having our own mug exchange.
Names are being collected now (by me) and the actual exchange will
occur around April 1st (good for all us pottery fools).

To join the PotteryBasics group, go to the group site at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/potterybasics/

Thanks,
Leesh

Alisha & all - the Clayart Stay-at-home Exchange is for members of all
experience and skill levels. I certainly hope that no one fears
participating because they feel that their experience level is
somehow "lesser". The purpose of the exchange is to have fun and to make
contacts with other potters. Any Clayart member who is not going to NCECA
in March is eligible to participate. We currently have 105 signed up, and
there is still time for you to sign up if you haven't already done so!

I certainly hope that Alisha's post does not deter anyone from
participating in the Clayart exchange!

Here's a link to the archives with the information about signing up.

What are you waiting for? Just do it!

Hey Carole and all:

And let's not forget that Taylor has been doing the Stay-at-home exchange
for several years now and his stuff is very beginner. If he's 'allowed' to
do it ANYONE is welcome.

Peace out,

Taylor, in Rockport TX

Hi Alisha,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't feel that there is any expectations or minimum
standards for involvement in the Stay-At-Home exchange.
This will be my fourth time in the exchange, my first experience was in 2003
when I had only been involved in pottery for a year. I sent a very modest
contribution, worthy of a 'new potter' effort, but I was rewarded with great
feedback from my exchange partner - a contact that has continued on and off
to this day. We still often exchange messages via email or clayart.

THIS is what the exchange is all about - building networks and making new
friends throughout the ceramics world, sharing and communicating your love
and joy of ceramics!!!

So come on and 'get in there', everyone is welcome, regardless of skills or
experience.
