i know that the ones that i have gone in are
`license to steal`.

a simple cardboard box is 3 bucks
bubble wrap is about 5 bucks for a tiny roll.
a handful of peanuts are 3 bucks.

i buy my boxes in sets of 400.
all cubes....6, 8, 10, 12, 14 inch so they
can be used inside one another.
from a box manufacturer.
(i store them in the rafters of my garage.)

i double box most everything.

i just sent two big boxes to montana. a set of dishes.
cost about 25 bucks. it arrived in perfect condition.

when i sent my stuff to california...i bought
a giant roll of bubble wrap. about a mile long.
still have some left. 50 bucks.

i do my own shipping ups at a pick up place.
or, go to the post office.

i do not, or cannot charge my clients for
75 dollars packing.

unless one is shipping a thousand dollar item...
i think it is best for the potter to take care of business.
do your own packing.

Mel and all:

http://www.uline.com
Cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, foam packaging materials, tape, anything =
for
shipping. And their service is exemplary. I use them a lot, buy moving
boxes in bulk for myself and clients. Never a problem with those folks.

I buy only what I need, because down here, silverfish will eat through a
cardboard carton in less than a month. No sense storing them, and =
having
them all infested. (no winter freeze here)

Thanks Wayne,
Ys, I have their catalogs, also a similar walk-in place near here. But, like
probablylots of folks I get big boxes at local huge True Value, wife brings
small ones home from work for me, and, as I said, I get free carpet padding
( anyon can) and it is the BEST packing material ever!
Dale

Randall,
Yes, had some problems in past when I had a store. But, as I said in
thread, that is one "Positie" about having the UPS store pack larger items,
If it breaks, THEY packed it, not me!
