Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has given a workshop at The Folk School and if there is anything you can tell me about it. I have been contacted by them with interest in me giving a raku kiln building workshop.

This school has a wonderful reputation, you reminded me (thanks) that I keep meaning to go there. I am looking for a class in Cone5-6 oxidation glaze firing, they have one in May, the only time this year I can't go. Thanks for the reminder, it's an awesome school.

The John C. Campbell Folk School doesn't pay very much, but it is so much
fun teaching workshops there. You are guaranteed a full workshop of
enthusiastic students. They take very good care of you, and feed you well.
The buildings and grounds are beautiful and the studios are very good. The
area is gorgeous. It is a wonderful place, a not-for-profit organization,
and I believe in supporting them. I had a wonderful time teaching a
workshop there a few years ago, and they've asked me to do another one in
late spring of 2007. If you like it there and do a good job, the'll ask you
back again and again. I think of it like a working vacation, so the lower
pay really is not a consideration for me.
