Oh, Mel -

Pretty please - I'd love an opportunity to look at this book!

Several years ago, I went to Kyoto - visited Kawai's studio/kilns. My oh my
oh my!

The Arakawa book is undoubtedly a treasure!

See you in Portland.

i am sorry hank and others.
the books are totally japanese.
only the dates under the pots are
in numbers that i can read.

these are very special catalogs
for exhibitions or collections.

my dear friend in kyoto digs a couple
out for me each year...i believe she pays
far too much for them. but, it seems
to be her duty. i love them.
my collection is now near fifty of them.

the kawai book is a hard cover.

remind me hank, and i will bring the arakawa
book with me to nceca.
you can be locked in a room with it.
padded.
mel

when joe koons was staying with us last spring
he found the pile...he stayed up an entire night
looking at them. he was just blown away.
all backwards, in japanese. but, it takes many minutes
to view each image. even when you cannot read.
