when i fire the chinese temmoku glazes and fire
to cone 13/oxidized the kiln color is white...almost blue.
welding goggles are a must.
it is the same as an old time `flashbulb` in the eyes.
the only way i can see the cones is to use a dark
welding glass such as used for arc welding.
i buy the piece of welding glass for a buck or so...have several.
wrap a piece of duct tape around the edge...hold it at the
spy hole. really nice when guests want to look in the kiln.
