A touring show of several Japanese porcelain pieces included a bowl with
metal leaf, gold and silver, in the glaze. Looked suspended. Spray on a
layer, lay down leaf, spray a layer?
Much more durable than applied outside, much less tedious than applied
outside. As I recall, that piece is the only one I have ever seen with that
particular effect, probably means it is not trivial to get it to work.
I think those pieces ended up at the sackler in D.C.
