About five years ago, when I was setting up my basement studio, Elizabeth
Priddy had a post on Clayart on how she used a bench to wedge on. I thought this
was a lovely idea and found a nice bench when we were furnishing the house.
Because the bench was very nice (rubber wood, which I got cheap at Pier One
because of a double sale!), I decided not to wedge on the bench itself. So, I have
a long unfinished wood plank on the bench and wedge on it. It works
wonderfully for me. I use one side for porcelain and the other for stoneware.
Hope this helps, and thanks again Elizabeth for that wonderful idea, which
has served me well!
