Thanks very much for your testing efforts!
As far as the nature of the glazes to be compared,
the idea was to have a "control" and the a "test".
The base versus base+iron comparison would
tell about the effects of iron as such. But any
two glazes that show different heating will
demonstrate that there is indeed an effect, which
can hopefully be tracked down later.

If you are using 2 mugs, I'd say don't put
water in either of them... use a 3rd mug
with the water. That way, if one dry mug heats
up,. we can be more certain that it is just the
glaze.. not some different water absorption.
