You should consider that you will have to remove the cool looking
cobblestones from the outside of the kiln when you need to rebuild it. If
it were to collapse, it will be that much more to deal with. You are right
that it would look cool, but is it worth the potential trouble for that
aesthetic. Most of the firing areas and kilns I have seen are not aimed at
visual appeal, mostly very utilitarian.
If you are next door to the Gamble house and want to blend in, go for it.
