hey all,
I am trying to decide between the olympic 1214-120 and the olympic doll
kiln. Both are 120v kilns, the 1214 is bigger at 11w" x 9d" hexagon shaped
but fires up to cone 4 and the doll kiln is smaller at 11"w x 7w x 9"d but
it fires to cone 10. I will be firing mostly earthenware maybe porcelain.
anyone have any experience with the 1214?

thanks,

Scott,
The Doll kiln would be a better choice for what you are firing. The
1214-120 is great for low fire, but is not recommended for porcelain.(cone
6). Another kiln to consider would be the model 129. It is 11.25 x 9 and
fires to a true cone 6 on 120v.

If you are ever planning on firing higher than earthenware temperature, get
the kiln that fires to cone 10.
