I have an older 3 cubic foot electric kiln.
I want to install a downdraft vent system.
My question is, what size hole do i need in the bottom of the kiln.
Thanks, Bob Seele

Hi Bob,
I built my own, I used two 1/8" holes. The diffuser on mine has a 4
inch flow control valve, that I keep at about 1/4 open and it seems to
be fine. It seems to completely exhaust the kiln, and the temperature
rate profile hasn't changed noticeably. The exhaust temp is about
100F.
Mark.

Probably a single 3/8" hole should work.
