Hi Carol,

I just called Mrs. Peeler to ask her some questions about why you might
be having some problems with Egyptian Paste. First she suggested that
you may simply need to fire it hotter if it is "blooming". Try going up
two cones. Here are some of the other things she added. If you are
making it flat objects that you do not want to be shiny on one side dry
it on plastic. If you do want it to be shiny all over dry it on screen
so that air can get to all sides, such as beads. It is harder to work
with in a humid environment. You might try using some of the pastes made
by companies such as Amaco or others.

This is the formula they had the most success with.

Vivika's Egyptian Paste.

Kona F-4 Spar 684
Soda Ash 130
Soda Bicarb 130
Kaolin 210
Flint 684
Bentonite 30

This quantity will fit in a gallon jug.
