"SELLING EVERYTHING, BUT OUT!"

A Pottery Workshop with Tony Clennell

Canadian potter, writer, and philosopher extraordinaire, Tony Clennell, will
be presenting a demonstration workshop in Oklahoma City at City Art Center
on February 25 and 26, 2006.

The workshop will focus on techniques, special details and embellishments
which create pots that stand above the ordinary. Throwing in sections to
make phenomenal large pots, altering, decorating, lugs and handmade cane
handles are but a few of the processes Tony will present with his unique
perspective. During the workshop, Tony will demonstrate his innovative
approach to teapots, beakers, ewers, plates, platters, jugs, jars, vases,
Texan sugar bowls and Large casseroles.

"It has been our life's mission to make good pots that don't sell out our
very souls." - Tony Clennell

Tony Clennell, a Canadian living treasure, has been a working potter along
with his wife Sheila for the past 18 years. His amazing work has been
exhibited extensively around the United States and Canada. He is a regular
and lively columnist for Clay Times Magazine and frequent contributor to
Ceramics Monthly and Pottery Making Illustrated. Tony has produced the
internationally distributed and highly acclaimed video "Taking The Macho Out
of Bigware." When not potting, writing or maintaining his studio in
Beamsville, Ontario, Tony teaches part-time at Canada's top art school,
Sheridan College. Tony is deeply philosophical with a giving spirit and a
strong commitment to the craft and art of pottery. This workshop is not to
be missed! For more information on the Clennells visit their website at
www.sourcherrypottery.com .

There will be a potluck lunch both Saturday and Sunday. Those who wish to
participate may sign up upon enrollment.

My friend Belinda and I drove multimiles from Orlando to Atlanta to attend
Tony's Mudfire Workshop. It was really great folks-Tony is an accomplished
thrower, has lots of knowledge to share as well as stories and humor.Been to
several workshops by various folks -want you to know his is well worth it and at
135 dollars for two days-a great deal!

Don't let Tony tell you that the workshop in GA made him blow his firing -we
all know his exhaustion was caused by trying to keep up with Ron Meyers. We
can't wait till Ron visits us in Orlando. We're happy to hear the refire
worked out ok!

Kathy: thanks for the plug. I enjoyed you and Belinda's company. Asked you
both to stay behind after the workshop and have a glass of wine. Sometimes
the good company of Clayart is hard to part with.
Hope we cross paths again.
Cheers,
tony
