This is the 8th studio I've worked in--6th that I've built. My old
studio, 10 X 12 feet (not counting kiln room), was a fine bit of
efficiency, but I decided it occasionally hindered production. So I've
posted the layout and some pictures of the new arrangement at this page:
http://www.sondahl.com/studio2006.html
I tried to make the glaze area so I wouldn't have any stacked buckets,
and added casters to a framed piece of plywood so I can store bags of
glaze materials under my ware shelves but easily access them. I'm even
considering adding running water to the studio, after foregoing it for
30 years...

Dear Brad-

What a great webpage! Thanks for all of the great information and
advice.

I think it would be a great thing to see images and floor plans of
ClayArtist's studios. Some potters work in closets, basements, and
garages; some potters work in warehouses. Clearly studio space
influences the work that is made within. Heros of mine such as Paul
Chaleff and Jeff Shapiro have certainly taken the approach of
creating large spaces for large pots. An artist doing miniatures
would be lost in that space.

Anyway, super site. Hope you inspire some of us to follow suit...

Peace,

Sam
