Hi Jennifer,

We haven't had a good snow storm here in years. Oh, I guess we had a few flakes falling several weeks ago, but even that didn't last a day. Thirty miles out of Portland where I live, we didn't even get that.
Sheesh, I remember the good ol' days when we could actually build a snowman or two, but those are just distant memories. Sigh.

Anyway, don't waste space in your suitcase packing boots. Better to bring an umbrella and a cozy hat, though.

Spring has sprung here in the Willamette Valley. The plums and cherries are in bloom, the daffys are too and some of the trees are leafing out.
You've gotta expect rain though, but some nice sun breaks too.
Beautiful weather for NCECA!

Also, when NOAA says snow in the forecast does that mean boots? Or is
the snow in Portland the kind that barely sticks?
Jennifer, with too many shoe choices....

Jennifer -
The Skutt website lists quite a few restaurants.

See you in Portland.

I got my NCECA Guide with my March Ceramics Monthly. It lists
restaurants.
Also, last time NCECA was in Portland..around the same time of year
but 2 decades ago, the weather was gorgeous!
Hot even ..for those of us from cooler places..like Montana.
Just think layers and peel as needed.
I am driving. After my return from the east coast last week, this
should be a picnic. Looking forward to seeing everyone
and meeting others for the first time..Shula especially. We are
hometown girls from Philly or Filthy as she calls it.
See you all soon.

There is a great restaurant guide and other NCECA info
at the Oregon Potters Association website.

when they say snow in the forecast, they generally mean in the mountains
nearby, not on the valley floor (i.e., portland). even if it should snow in
portland, it almost never sticks, especially in march. the daffodils are in
full bloom in many places, and i swear i heard frogs the othernight...still,
never say never! welcome to portland!
