I came across a glaze recipe that I would like to try and it calls for =
Spanish Red Iron Oxide and it says not to use substitutes. I looked into =
several catalogs and called local supplier only to find very few carry =
Spanish red iron oxide. Finally found one that carried Spanish red and =
have 50lbs. on the way.=20
So what I was wondering is just what is the difference between plain red =
iron oxide and Spanish red iron oxide??? Other than where they come =
from.

I just asked that question at my supplier. They told me that Spanish red is less pure and more commonly used in terra sig. I have a small amount but haven't even tried it yet in anything.
