it most always the same for black.
saturate the clay with at least four oxides.
cobalt, copper, black iron, chrome..whatever you have.
make equal amounts and keep adding until you get what you
want.
gets expensive if you add like 12 percent cobalt.
but, there is a lot written in the books about black.
remember, oxides can flux a body...make it fire to a
cone lower than you think. but in most cases, it will
not do anything.
it sure will affect glazes over it.
