Your pics are great, Don.
Just wanted to comment on one of them- the one titled What to do with that old pug mill.
That old pugger is over 100 years old and belonged to George Wright until just recently, when he donated it to Georgies to use out in front of their store as you see it there.
It came from an old turn of the century brick yard and has seen continuous service making first making that brick clay and then our famous Hair Of The Dog that so many of us here in Oregon/Washington depend on.

George, who has achieved the status by northwest potters as a revered icon, would have attended NCECA, but has been in and out of the hospital the last 6 weeks. Thank goodness, at 88 years of age he is still one strong guy and is on the mend now.
Up until the holidays, you could find George down in the shop cranking out tons of clay every week. Heidi H and I drove out to visit him Saturday after NCECA, and he assured us that he will be back making clay in a couple of weeks.

Ceramics Monthly featured a great article on George in the March 1998 issue.
What a guy... and we who love him wish him a very speedy recovery.

Okay, Marta. Here are some of those faces.
There was a slight delay due to the chosen
mode of transportation back home (Amtrak), but here are
a few photos mostly from the Clayart Room:

My apologies for neglecting to photograph Snail in her
Friday night garb.

Vince had an advance peek at some of them last week.
Hooray for wireless internet service.

Thanks for all the camaraderie, the exchanges of mugs
and favors and conversations. I miss you all, and all
those great restaurants, already!
