I want to thank Russel from Brussels publicly for once again setting
up and tending to the excellent photography workshop held in the
Clayart Room. Russel has assumed this major responsibility from
its inception several years ago. He now makes all the organization
and necessary personal contacts look easy; they're not ..... not
easy, nor do they always go smoothly.... nor does everybody always
show up on the right night at the appointed time with the required
equipment. Nevertheless, Russel anticipates such moments and
handles them with grace........ even this year when he did not have
Carla on hand, at elbow, seeing to it that Russel gets what he needs.
He, and we, missed you, Carla! Russel did a bang-up job, however,
and we appreciate him for it.
Thank you, Russel and thank you as well for allowing us to watch=20
while you went through the various slides or digitals of potters'
work. I had missed Marcia's dvd of her tiles presented at AMOCA
here in California...... so this was my first opportunity to see them.
I was attending an adjacent clay discussion by Laguna (Jon and
Chris) while you viewed Marcia's work and was pleased to discover
that I could get significant benefit from both ....... I don't recommend
attempting two presentations at once but in fact it seemed to work
for me.

In the Mojave desert of California U.S.A. where it's chilly and rain is
forecast. My purple boa as well as my red boa look great on the
computer room wall and remind me of Our Wayne whenever I cast
eyes upon them. Also at hand is my most recent NCECA Mel
mug ..... great with hot tea...... wonderful handle...... I no longer =
feel
guilty for drawing it in the exchange, thank goodness. I do not
encourage guilt but it kept bopping in and out whenever I looked at
my mug for awhile...... that's over, thank goodness.

Thanks Joyce,
I'd also like to thank Donald Hughes for providing the pc for the
clayart room as well as the CD writer and USB key reader/writer.
And Wayne for very generously providing the LCD projector.
And Irene for that stack of CD's
And Richard Aerni for providing us with a copy of his gallery cd to
show as an example.
And everyone who brought their work to show.
This turned out to be a really valuable asset for the clayart room. I
hope it can be repeated in the future.
I wish more people would have made use of the PC. I'm afraid that
people thought it was for the Photography Workshop and didn't use it
for that reason.
Next year, if we have one, it's available for what ever anyone wants
to show when ever.
Thanks again everyone.
Russel
